Two children pulled from pond in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Two children were pulled from a pond on Sunday night in the 100 block of Shearwater Drive.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 9:15 p.m. Police said an off-duty sheriff's deputy pulled the children from the pond. A third child was found unharmed at a nearby business, police said.

The two children found in the water were taken to the hospital. Their statuses have not been released.

A man claiming to be the children's father is in custody.
